| ETC To start developing new art curriculum | |||||||||||||||||||
|
ETC Montessori is pleased to announce that it has sought the expertise and talent of Christina Zafeiropoulou to lead the development of the art curriculum at ETC. Ms. Zafeiropoulou will initially oversee the development of an art curriculum that will meet the needs of Elementary I, Elementary II and Middle School Montessori students. Under her guidance, ETC will seek to develop new and innovative materials and curricula that will allow teachers to effectively implement a project based approach to art. Furthermore, as ETC continues to gain popularity with schools that function under the IB Programme requirements, Ms. Zafeiropoulou will lead efforts to develop and ultimately accommodate the growing needs of such clients. Christina Zafeiropoulou received her degree in art from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and a post graduate diploma in Art Therapy from the Hertfordshire College of Art and Design. She is currently a visual art teacher with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Over the years she has been a part of numerous workshops, lectures and exhibitions on various aspects of art, art appreciation and art therapy. Through workshops that deal with the visual arts and the implementation of art techniques in the classroom she has had the opportunity to gain and share her knowledge with children and adults in several European countries. She has given a number of speeches on contemporary art and has been interviewed by local TV on the subject of understanding the “Developing Stages of Children’s Drawings.” Under Ms. Zafeiropoulou’s guidance, ETC Montessori is delighted to be able to begin developing and offering quality Montessori art curricula that will not only be easy to implement by all Montessori teachers but will ultimately benefit the students allowing them to explore art in ways that will be meaningful to them. |
