ETC to begin supporting Montessori middle school curriculum.

Beginning in October 2009, ETC Press will begin offering support materials and curriculum for Montessori classrooms that offer a middle school curriculum. "We are the first company to offer materials based on the needs of middle school instructors as they are presented by the popular Montessori middle school training program based in Houston. The materials we are offering for middle school are not a 'hit and miss' type of operation that you might find through other Montessori companies. We are committed to offering products and items that will supplement and complement the Houston training model." Mr. Margaritis, Director of Operations at ETC Press was quoted saying. The Dorothy Ohlhaver Scholarship enters its second year.

As the Dorothy Ohlhaver Scholarship enters its second year of operation ETC encourages individuals who are pursuing their early childhood credentials to apply. "Last year we donated over $5,000. As we continue to move forward with the scholarship we would like to encourage as many individuals as possible to apply. This year we have increased the minimum payout from $300 to $500 with a top cap of $1000. Our goal is to help as many individuals as possible as they complete their credentials. " Ms. Ohlhaver was quoted.

The scholarship is named in honor of Dorothy Ohlhaver and will be available to individuals who are studying to receive their credentials for Early Childhood. Scholarships range from $500 - $1000 and will be paid directly to training centers or colleges.  Deadline for the applications are April 15th for summer program training centers, and May 15th for college programs.  Interested candidates may download the application and mail it in along with the necessary paperwork. 

ETC becomes an approved vendor of Montessori Materials for the Chicago Public Schools

On June 17th ETC Press Inc., became an approved vendor for the Chicago Public Schools. Public Montessori Schools and Magnet schools of CPS may now place their orders for Montessori materials through ETC by submitting their purchase orders to the Department of Procurement. For your reference please refer to ETC's vendor number 98070. 

Chicago Public Schools is the third largest school district in the U.S. serving over 400,000 students, managing over 600 schools, and the second largest employer in Chicago.

Pennsylvania Department of Education ACT 90/195

ETC Press has become an approved vendor for the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Private schools in the state of Pennsylvania, that are recognized by the PA Department of Education can now take advantage of ACT 90/195 and have their instructional materials purchased by the State. This program is offered under ACT 195-1972, ACT 90-1975, and was established for use by Pennsylvania resident students attending nonpublic and private schools in Pennsylvania and surrounding states.

Each year, the Pennsylvania legislature appropriates funds for the purchase and loan of instructional materials and equipment to eligible Pennsylvania resident students enrolled in, and attending full time, nonpublic schools. Such schools are encouraged by the PA Department of Education to use approved materials as their instructional items or consider best practice resources. With ETC Press being an approved vendor, and with all of our items meeting the state eligibility requirements, private Montessori schools can now take advantage of this state funded resource. National Standards to be available for ETC's curriculum packages

Beginning August 11th ETC Press will be making available the charts showing how our curriculum meets National Teaching, and National Content Standards. ETC is the first and only Montessori Materials Company that is currently providing this service. The first charts to be available will be for our science curriculum. Our history/geography curriculum will also become available. It is our goal to have this project completed by early to mid November. With the use of these correlation charts, teachers will be able to quickly view how the Montessori curriculum from ETC Press is aligned with the various National and State standards.

ETC is chosen by HISD as the district's vendor

On June 12 the Houston Independent School District Board of Directors voted ETC Press Inc. as its vendor for Montessori Materials. ETC Press Inc. was chosen as the vendor for the school district through a closed bid process.

Houston ISD is the largest school district in Texas operating over 300 schools, also making it one of the largest school districts in the U.S.

Over the years, ETC Press has earned a reputation for quality, innovative, and developmentally appropriate Montessori materials that challenge and meet the requirements set forth by many public, and private Montessori schools.
