Educational Training and Consulting Inc. (ETC) was founded in 2004 with the mission of improving educational practices through the implementation of Montessori pedagogical concepts and inquiry based pedagogy and methodology. Furthermore, ETC develops and markets educational products that provide students and educators with a rich learning experience. ETC is headquartered in Houston, TX. provide a unique synergy of services that benefits the Montessori and
Applied Learning educational community as well as the general public. The
educational community includes professionals, educators, scholars,
students, post-service educators, paraprofessionals, teacher's aides, and
pre-service teachers. Through ETC workshops and ETC Consulting we can
provide resources that allow schools to better implement practices and
further enhance their curriculum. In addition, ETC Press provides
professional educators with Montessori curriculum and select materials
that will enhance their existing program.
ETC also offers over 130 educational products in the areas of math, geometry, chemistry, biology, physics, earth science, geography, history, reading, and language, with a specific emphasis on the Montessori methodology. In 2005, ETC gained recognition and a number of awards for its timelines. In 2007 ETC began offering free Montessori Materials to educators, and schools. Recognition ETC's consultants and products are highly regarded in the Montessori community. Since its inception, ETC has placed an emphasis on employing and working with quality individuals that are committed to promoting education. Our materials are designed by award-winning graphic artists, and tested by teachers and their students, as well as training centers and their interns. Our products as well as our consultants, are sought after by some of the largest and most prestigious Montessori Teacher Training Centers. ETC's designers have won numerous awards throughout their careers and we recognize that it is through their talent that we are able to bring you work that is visually stunning and pedagogically sound. Leadership Erika Ohlhaver is the president of ETC. Erika has been a Montessori teacher for the past 29 years. Starting with the youngest age group, she has received three separate levels of Montessori certification (Early Childhood, Lower Elementary, and Upper Elementary). Erika is a second generation Montessori professional, and has worked in both private and public school Montessori programs at all age levels. Since 1992, her association as a faculty member of several Montessori Training Centers, has afforded her the opportunity to work with many prominent people in the Montessori community. Ms. Ohlhaver has worked extensively with the development of the Montessori math and geometry curricula, which is predicated on discovery learning. |
